"My uncle was discharged to early"

About: Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust

(as a relative),

My uncle had been in hinchingbrooke for nearly 3 weeks, he was taken in with abdominal problems. We found out during his stay on Laural ward that he had had septicaemia. He was very very poorly and was in isolation for some of his stay.

Then on thursday last week he was discharged but he still had abdominal pains. His daughter and myself were taken back by the doctors decision to send him home. On his discharge his daughter was offered no assistance to get him to the car not even a wheelchair, bearing in mind he is 76years old had been in bed constantly for nearly 3 weeks and also has breathing problems. My uncle was discharged late Thursday afternoon and his daughter had to phone for an ambulance in the early hours of Saturday morning as he was in so much pain and was admitted again but this time to juniper ward where we found the staff nice and on the ball. The whole family are very very cross that he was put through this ordeal.
