"Disgusting practice"

About: Manchester Road Surgery

I cannot believe the low level of care for patients with mental health issues at this practice. I suffer from very bad depression informed my gp that I was thinking of taking my life and instead of offering me support, advised me as my appointment was regarding something else I would have to make another appointment in 2 weeks time to discuss . Shocking care and no support for the 5 years I was there

We are very sorry you are unhappy with the support and care that you were provided at Manchester Road Surgery.

Obviously it is difficult for us to know how we can make this better for you as your comment is understandably anonymous. Patients often come to see their GP with more than one problem even though the appointment is only for 10 minutes. We try to encourage patients who have more than one problem or feel they need more time to book a double appointment as this is less rushed for both GP and the patient. It is unclear from your comment whether you are still registered with us or have moved to another surgery. We would encourage you to make an appointment with a GP to discuss your concerns especially your thoughts of taking your own life.

I would hope that we could improve the care and support that we give for you and give you the opportunity to discuss your concerns over any previous consultations.
