"Overall my experiance has been good"

About: Highbury Hospital

(as the patient),

I feel that the ward can be busy at times, due to visitors and meeting taking place on the ward. The staff do there best but to cope and have treated me really well during my admission.

Activity I have been involved with, have been good. We have played pool, had walks off the hospital and 1: 1 sessions with the activity co-ordination. Overall my experience has been good.

Hi Simw1,

I'm really pleased to hear that your overall experience has been a good one on Rowan 1.

We really like to involve patients in what is happening on the ward and gain ideas for development in the future.

We have patient/community meetings every other Wednesday at 11:00hrs (next one scheduled for 18/01/17), which you will be very welcome to attend and offer feedback.

I am also very happy to meet and discuss any specifics of care at any time, if you would prefer to do this on an individual basis.

I will make attempts to contact you on the ward, but you are also welcome to contact me at any time (Mon-Fri: 9-5).

My contact details are as follows:

Tel: 0115 8760120
email: patrick.crolla@nottshc.nhs.uk

Dear Simw1

Following on from what Patrick has said I am pleased to hear that your time with the activity co-ordinator working on the ward has been positive.I have spoken with Phil the activity co-ordinator today and he has asked to provide a few words about his role. This is what he said.

"I have been involved with in patient activities for a number years, and in August last year the role was made formal to support smoke free. It is extremely rewarding to work alongside people and see the difference having somthing to do on the ward can make to their stay on a ward. There are 6 of us accross mental health and we work closely with the ward teams, feedback like this is so important in promoting the benefit of activity".

We welcome any suggestions for activities as well as supporting anyone from an inpatient to coming back to volunteer in some way if they want to.
