"Thankyou Harefield for my stent surgery"

I am a middle aged woman of 44 years who was aware of an inherited condition called FH and had escalated cholesterol levels. I was fortunate enough to be put forward for an angiogram due to family history and feeling generally unwell. My symptoms were not specific but as an overall feeling of been so overtired, a little dizzy and heartburn symptoms which penetrated through to my back.

I found out I had an 80% blockage in my main left artery at the beginning and was referred to Harefield for possible bypass surgery/stent. I was very shocked by my results as felt as a woman and of a relatively young age that there would be very little blockage.

The team from Watford to referring me to Harefield were amazing too. At Harefield the team of nurses and cardiologists were very professional and supportive and I was fortunate enough to have a drug eluting stent placed and leave hospital within a few days. I can not thank them enough for their support and it has made me look at life alot differently and as a result have changed my outlook on diet and exercise too to support a better lifestyle with medication I have to take.

The cardio-rehabilitiation sessions are very useful and link people together in life changing circumstances. I would like to thank you all for your support and professionalism and special thanks to Mr C Ilsley who gave me the life saving stent surgery.
