This morning my Mother collapsed at home and was taken by ambulance to Blackburn Hospital (Lancashire).
I had seen the news earlier in the week which highlighted significant issues at the hospital. I have to say I was worried.
On arrival we were dealt with quickly, professionally and with dignity and respect.
My mothers assessment was done in a reasonable time for a busy ED and throughout our waiting time we were 'looked after' by various members of the ED team.
They considered whether we needed any refreshment and made sure we were comfortable during the waiting period.
The Junior Doctor who then dealt with my Mum was superb.
the doctor took their time, listened to what had happened and made sure my Mum's diagnosis was fully considered.
We were there from 9.00am to 3.00pm and overall the experience was one which made me feel compelled to write a very commendable review of this hospital and it's fantastic ED team.
They were very busy but nothing was too much trouble.
They were a credit to themselves, this hospital and the NHS. Thanks to all of you on behalf of my Mum and my family.
