"New cancer centre at Guys."

About: Guy's Hospital

A trip to outpatients at the new cancer centre today. The medical care was faultless but the admin seems to be having teething problems: Confusing instructions on the 'self-check-in' screens, lack of guiding human presence on reception and, as a result, patients wandering around looking uncertain and anxious. Also one elderly person was left stranded for a long period when a porter failed to be ordered. Plus there seemed to be an issue with the availability of wheelchairs. If these things could be changed to work more smoothly I think it would greatly reduce stress of on patients.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you were happy with the quality of the clinical you received. Thank you for your comments about some of the administrative aspects. We are working with patients, staff and volunteers to implement changes to address these issues such as providing assistance with the self check in systems and supporting patients moving through the centre. We will pass your comments on to the Cancer Centre Team.
