"Visit to A&E 12.1.17"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital / Accident and emergency

I injured my middle finger on my left hand . After a few days the finger swelled up and was very painful. After contacting my GP I was advised to go to A&E . I explained my injury to the recptionist who was most helpful and understanding. I had felt the injury did not warrant a hospital visit. I was seen by a nurse in less than 45 minutes and was asked to go down for an Exray on the finger. This took less than 30minutes and their was no break. I was asked to go back to the waiting room to see one of the nurses . Within 10 minutes I was seen and the finger was cleaned as they needed to "puncture into the nail " which then bled . It was then bandaged and I was offered pain killers . (I declined this kind offer )

May I just say that my visit today to the Sussex County A&E was a credit to the dedicated Dr's and Nurses working so tirelessly. Well done and thank you .
