"Disgusting"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

My father was admitted to this hospital three times over the last few weeks, first time was fine staff were lovely but each time after that it was worse. There is no compassion shown and I'm not just talking about my father I'm talking about the appalling things I witnessed on the ward. My father was discharged and Mam told to wait at home for him getting back in an ambulance. The hospital sent him home without his teeth - he put them in a box with medication and they have thrown it away. What sort of people have you got working here - they go on and on about being short staffed and how many shifts they've worked - this is the job they've chosen to do so why do they feel the need to moan in front of the patients all the time.

It doesn't surprise the NHS is in such a mess after the things I've witnessed over the past few weeks.

We are very concerned to hear about your experience visiting your father and his care. We would like to look into this as thoroughly and quickly as possible - if you were able to contact the hospital Help and Advice Service by telephone on 0191 569 9855, Freephone 08005876513 or by email Helpandadviceservice@chsft.nhs.uk we can take some more details and look into this issue further. In the meantime I have shared your review with our manager for Renal medicine.
