About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Accident and emergency

I went to A&E last Wednesday night at about 8.30pm and Was sent to minor injuries ...There was a 3 hour wait marked on the board. Major dept was heaving and not much room.We ended up waiting 8 hours to be seen. I am just sending this message to totally thank your staff who were on that night.There were only 3 doctors on and were totally stretched to the absolute limit! I witnessed 2 members of your staff being verbally abused and I have to say that they handled it extremely well and Soo very professionally ....One was on their own for much of the time, A care assistant I am guessing.

Then the doctor thatfinally came to stitch my hand was another credit to your hospital .....So many people are quick to moan and complain, but to be honest, your staff were all amazing and calming despite having 2 deaths and a bunch of very rude and arrogant patients, quite a few that shouldn't even have been there anyway.. So Please Thank All of them on my behalf....With High regards to all you do.

Thank you so much for your kind comments and forbearance at the very long wait you had to be treated.

I am truly very sorry you had to witness such poor behaviour from other patients, who had obviously become frustrated at the wait.

It is hard for the staff when they are so busy, but I am very grateful that you have commented on the calm way that they dealt with the stressful environment.

I hope your hand is now healing well.
