Last Wednesday evening I had the unfortunate experience of accompanying my husband to A&E at St Peters after a suspected seizure. Trolleys were stacked down two corridors and my heart sank when I realised just how long we would have to wait. However, no sooner we were handed over to the nursing team, they set to work on my husband taking bloods, checking blood pressure, oxygen etc etc. We were even offered refreshments which at a stressful time like that, a cup of tea is always greatly appreciated. Slowly but sure we continued further down the queue and at all times, we felt things were totally under control. I soon began to realise that when we first arrived, the Paramedic noticed the Sister in Charge - they said we would be OK and we certainly were. That Sister deserves huge credit as not only they but all their team did their utmost under very difficult circumstances to keep the place under control and, more importantly keep patients and relatives up dated as to what was happening.
Despite having to spend 6 hours in the department,
I cannot praise the team enough for their hard work, excellent care in a very clean and well maintained environment. Thank you St Peters. You are brilliant!
"Thank you for such brilliant care"
