"foot surgery"

About: Spire Leeds Hospital

I had foot surgery at the end of last year. I should have been a day case but my surgery turned out to be more complicated than anticipated and the surgeon requested that I stay in overnight on complete bed rest.

This meant that I could not get out of bed at all for twenty four hours.

I dreaded having to use a bed pan and because I suffer from RA I would have found it very difficult to use.

The nursing staff were amazing and understanding and ensured that I had the use of a commode which made things so much easier.

I had the most awful night and was unable to sleep and the nurse on duty was so kind and caring and made me a lovely Horlicks in the hope that I would eventually get off to sleep.

I can only offer praise to the staff who took me the ward, all of the nursing and theatre staff and also the surgeon who has done the most amazing job despite the procedure taking three hours instead of ninety minutes.

I am truly grateful to all the staff at Spire Leeds.
