'I had a planned operation which was agreed at a date suitable to me. Prior to my oeration, I completed a pre-assessment to ensure I was fit for the procedure as I wasa to have a general anaesthetic. After being admitted to the day care centre, I was quickly taken through to my cubicle where I was seen by my care nurse who explained what would be happening to me. My consultant and anaesthetist also visited me and confirmed what would be happening to me. All through the procedure, I was treated extremely well, staff were friendly and understanding, answered my questions and reassured me of my concerns. After the operation, I was told I would be staying in overnight and taken to Cherry ward where the staff here continued their caring treatment of me ensuring my privacy and help when I required it right up until I left the following day.

I recieved the best possible care was given to me throughout my treatment at the hospital. The staff were excellent despite being under obvious pressure - especially in the day care environment, a real credit to the hospital and should be acknowledge. Well done
