"If this is the future of nursing we are doomed."

I was sectioned on Lincoln ward for 5 days over the new year, the staff are totally ignorant even refusing to call me by the name i wished to be called. I would not recomend this place to anyone. There were a few good staff but the majority are untrained have no compasion and i did not see any signs of care given on that ward at all. As per there no smoking policie in the hospital grounds the patients are put in great danger having to stand on the corner of a main busy road in sub zero tempretures with no cover, in fact one patient had an accident while outside falling over and hurting himself on the ungritted roads,lucky for him there was no trafic about at the time being early in the morning. If this is the future of care in the NHS we are doomed.

In reply to your comment on NHS Choices Website, I am sorry that your stay on Lincoln Ward over the New Year period was not a favourable one. Staff on the ward are committed to giving excellent care in a compassionate way, I apologise that you did not feel that this was the case.

I note that you commented on the Smoking Policy and safety of patients. The Trust has now been Smoke Free since March 2016 and smoking in ,and, on hospital grounds is not permitted. We do offer a variety of Nicotine Replacement Therapies, in order, to assist people to cut down or stop smoking. Evidence does show that people with mental health issues are at a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes, therefore, it is essential that we work in line with the smoking policy to aid better physical health for our clients.
