"The Level System is used as a threat"

About: St Andrew's Healthcare Essex / Colne

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The food here is better than the food at the last hospital I was at. It is cooked from scratch and prepared here, but in the NHS it is pre-cooked chilled. At my previous hospital there were more staff, however there are not enough staff here so some people don't get to go out. The level system is used as a threat. The staff will say to us If you don't do this thing then you will lose your leave. At the other hospital there was no level system and we got leave much; much quicker.

Dear

Thank you for sharing your experience on Colne. Its great to hear that you find the food provision good. Your experience with the level system is not how this is intended to be used. Senior management will work with the ward team to ensure that training and reflective session is done regularly to allow all staff to have better understanding of this.

Regards
