"Nothing"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

(as the patient),

What I liked

Nothing

What could be improved

Waiting times. Respect for patients. Medical Information. Communication with patients. Everything basically.

Anything else?

I was sent to SRU by my G P. I arrived at 8pm in the SRU dept they sent me to Medical assessment then they sent me back to SRU. I waited in a waiting room for over 45 mins in extremely bad pain. I was shown to a bed. I was not asked if I was in pain or needed pain relief or told when I would be seen by a Doctor. No medical history or information was taken by a nurse. I was not seen by a nurse or a Doctor until I complained at 11 pm. At 11.10pm a Doctor offered me pain relief. I did not feel I could stay in a hospital that treats people without respect or awareness of the problems and pain I was in. I went home on the condition I returned at 9.45am on the 11/06/2010 for a scan. I had my scan and waited for the results at 13.15 I complained that I had not seen anyone again. I had not had anything to eat for 2 days, I also was needed to take some pain relief. I went to the hospital restaurant to get some food on returning and sitting for another hour I was seen by a lovely consultant who said I could have Preumaturia? Diverticulitis ? he arranged some medication and hopefully further tests. I am still in tremendous pain but I no not want to returned to the hospital. I can understand how busy the staff are but to treat patients in this awful way is disheartening.
