"Vague Apointments/Self Funding"

About: Spire Southampton Hospital

I spent a considerable amount of time trying to make an appointment to see a consultant at this hospital, but despite numerous emails, the staff at this hospital seemed unable to make a decision. If I had been an NHS or insurance funded patient patient I would have perhaps received better treatment. The staff at this hospital didn't seem to understand that unlike them, not everyone is office based and can spend all day chatting on the phone. I arranged my appointment by email (the professional way to proceed) confirmed acceptance of my appointment and then three days later they emailed me to say that they had given my appointment to another patient. To add insult to injury, they offered me an alternative appointment on a date that I had already declined due to work commitments. The staff at this hospital treated me like a second class citizen. At first they welcomed me with open arms, but then did everything they possibly could to avoid me. I would never accept treatment at this hospital; even if they paid me!
