"Staff behaviour"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was seen by a horrid nurse during normal working hours in the afternoon so I can not blame her unacceptable way of treating me to a long shift or being tired.

She did not let me get a word in, she was so dictatorial, telling me that I had to come back next day to the plaster room at the fracture clinic to get a new full cast on. I was developing pressure sores due to a badly applied lower limb cast ( too tight and poorly padded, done in the last 48 hours) and she did not even perform a physical examination on my leg, let alone caring for my pain /possible skin infection.

I consider her behavior towards me, as a patient, was unacceptable as she did not put my best interest and care at first.

Fortunately I have disinfectant solutions and dressings at home so I could care for my wounded skin on my own.

This visit to A&E was a waste of time (4. 5 hours wait) and also this nurse jeopardized my health/ orthopedic treatment. I would like to submit a written complaint but unfortunately did not take her name as it was a very distressful time for me being on my own, wounded and wheelchair bound.
