"Patient Care Q.E Hospital gateshead"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead) South Tyneside District Hospital / Neurology The Royal Victoria Infirmary / Neurology

(as a relative),

My mum who has encephalitis. was admitted to Q. E after she suffered a seizure lasting 2 hours. After several tests she was transferred to RVI who took great care in looking after her. Once transferred back to Q. E which I did not know anything about until I contacted the RVI. I asked how my mother was doing. They did not know she had a treatment of Hemoglobin lasting over a 5 day period. I asked if they would be fitting a feeding tube as my mum could not swallow. On several occasions I was informed yes, then no and maybe. Every time I speak to the nurse she keeps saying nothing has changed. When asked about medication I keep getting told well she is on meds. When ask to speak to a doctor there is never anyone around. After 1 week I still don't have the answers that we require. No one has bothered to contact us
