"Doctors weren’t scary like I’d thought"

About: Rotherham Hospital / Ophthalmology Rotherham PCT

(as the patient),

I rung the doctors and the lady gave me an appointment to see the doctor I like, I always see her because she is kind. I have autism and like to see the same doctor, because she knows how to make things simple for me. The doctor used some tools to look at my eyes and asked me Q’s about what I could see and if I had headaches. She told me that I was going to see someone at the hospital who could tell me more about my eyes. I haven’t been there yet but I have been to Rotherham hospital and everyone was nice, they weren’t scary like I’d thought.

I support the organisation in making sure that the voice of patients and the public is heard and used in planning services. This involves running events, managing surveys, and building networks with the local community.

Thanks for telling us about this.

I am glad that your doctor is helpful and makes things easy to understand.

We'd be very interested to know how you get on at the hospital appointment for your eyes, I hope you will tell us about this when you've been!
