After discovering a suspicious lesion on my back, I was referred to RLI dermatology department. Within 10 days I had a local excision, biopsy and diagnosis, followed by a wide area excision.
I received excellent consultancy advice, (clear and direct) excellent surgery - (cheerful, speedy, neat and tidy scar) and excellent nursing care (very important psychological and emotional support, personal, informative, caring and helpful, available by phone if required.) I then had 3 monthly examinations and was discharged after 3 years.
6 months later
I was worried by a swelling and another lesion. I was seen by the consultant within 4 working days, and once again received a speedy diagnosis (non malignant, luckily) with clear and helpful advice, and a strong sense of a caring and efficient department. I understand that there was a team of people who considered my treatment at each stage, most of whom I never met, but thank you all.
"Thanks for sympathetic, speedy and effective..."
