I had a chest infection my breathing was getting worse. My GP arrived at my home and rang the ambulance service for a one hour slot.An hour and a half later, the ambulance service rang to ask how I was they were told ok by my daughters but needs treatment soon.
My GP had advised my daughters that I needed an ambulance to hospital and not to take me in my car. The service said they were very busy with emergencies.
They finally after two and a half hours, the paramedics came in and asked how I was then said to my daughters could you take your mum to hospital by my car! With an ambulance outside and my breathing getting worse they helped me into my own car.I could have been at hospital earlier.
I am extremely disappointed with your service. My GP said at the time if you get worse you ring 999. So I can only presume everybody eventually fed and frightened ring 999 to get to hospital, then all becomes one vicious circle of which I never want to be part of again.
