"One nurse was very caring and ..."

About: Royal Free Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

One nurse was very caring and understanding and worked well with all patients. He had a good sense of humour, whilst comforting patients.

What could be improved

Most nurses and other staff were rude to sick patients, swearing at vulnerabe patients and treating us as troublesome. Moreover, during night time when patients are supposed to be resting, staff are busy talking loudly to each other about their personal lives, tv, etc and ordering take aways. The true care and spiritual care has to be taught to all medical staff, from consultants, surgeons to the ancillary staff. The words spiritual care have to be taken seriously by all staff to help sick people to get well again.

Anything else?

Hospitals and the NHS have to provide compulsory ongoing training for all staff from reception to consultants, to have respect and total spritual care for patients. This is the only way to help patients to get well.
