"Patronising, judgemental & uncaring"

About: St Thomas' Hospital (London)

Started with high hopes and very positive. Largely remained so during OIR stay but since being on a cardiac ward the communication has suffered, I e been spoken to multiple times as though I'm some dumb idiot undeserving of respect and heard staff talk about me making judgements about me as though I'm unable to feel or be worthy of even the most basic of acknowledgements. Distressed and unable to trust majority of staff now I'm left feeling the safest option now is to discharge myself. Utterly lost and scared.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us regarding your recent experience of treatment and care at the Trust. Whilst it is good to know that your stay started positively, we are concerned to hear about the communication and staff attitude problems you experienced towards the end of the stay. We would like to learn more about this so that we can discuss the matter further with the team, and would like to assure ourselves that all concerns you have had have been addressed. If you would like to contact the PALS Team on pals@gstt.nhs.uk or 020 7188 8801 and they will be able to explore this further and liaise with the team.
