All i can say is i am currently being treated at the walton Centre for an acoustic Neuroma...I had my pre op at the end of April and am still waiting for a surgery date. I have been waiting for a surgery date since the 1st of Feb. I am tired of being on tenterhooks and not being able to plan ahead. they apparently could call me in "anyday".
In total I have been a patient at the Walton for 2 years and endured many many long hours in Clinics, waiting for consultants who are running late, having MRI scans and being told I would be having treatment, and then being told they wanted to wait and then being offered treatments I have already made clear I do not want.
Much as they are caring and professional at all times, they have never in my opinion gone "above and beyond". I have spent the last 18 weeks waiting and always doing the chasing. I understand I am not the only patient there, this is not a complaint, and in no way do I hold it against the walton centre, but I have a life as well as a brain tumor, and I am sick and tired of waitng. I would't mind if they kept me informed, but they don't. It was only upon calling the clinic that I discovered my surgeon was on holiday..it's not fair!
All the same, even after all the messing around and the gruelling treatment yet to come, I understand they are doing their best, and every single member of staff I have met there has been calming professional agreable and overall brilliant. So to all the Staff that have and will be caring for me...THANK YOU., Now sort me out so I can start living again!
