What I liked
All staff treated me with respect and I have nothing but praise for them all.... the Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Nurses, Physiotherapist, Domestic staff, Porters, were all very nice to me. I would like to give a special mention about Charnley ward, where I stayed post-operatively for about 21hrs. I was in a two-bed bay with another lady and we were both looked after exceptionally well. Our room was bright and airy and very clean... and every member of staff was efficient, organised, caring, helpful and happy. Thank you all very, very much, for making my stay such a stress-free pleasant experience.
What could be improved
I would like to have been told the approx time of my operation whilst waiting in the same day admissions unit. I did ask staff a couple of times, and got told they would have to look it up on the system, but no-one did. Its not nice having to wait around for hours feeling nervous about your impending op, and not knowing approx how long the wait will be.
Anything else?
I had a 'double' op, which involved an Orthopaedic surgeon working on my right, and a Breast surgeon working on my left. I just wanted to say that I was impressed at how well It was co-ordinated. Grateful thanks from me goes to both surgeons involved.
