What I liked

My husband had minor day surgery. His treatment was efficient, staff were pleasant and helpful, and overall we were very satisfied.

What could be improved

Both spaces at the pick-up point for Day Surgery patients were occupied by contractors' vehicles - a black pick-up truck and a white Fiat van. I then had the choice of parking in a staff space or in the main car park. I chose the latter as I wanted to be fair to staff and wasn't sure how long it would take to fetch my husband. It didn't take long as it happened and I paid £3 for about 15 minutes' parking - a bit steep! More important, I had to get my husband to stand outside the building while I fetched the car to pick him up near the Day Surgery unit - not a brilliant start to discharge, when he was still feeling sleepy and a little shaky. I hope that contractors can be encouraged to park with more consideration.
