The person who did my blood test was lovely, but this is not good enough to work with sterile injections.
I have had many blood tests and know how they work. I have never ever had a problem with getting blood from my arm. The person performing the test put the tight band on and inserted the needle. I was asked to open my fist and was already doing so. The person could not get blood or it was very slow.. I was feeling very faint as I had to fast for this test and am 34 weeks pregnant so it was tough for me. The member of staff eventually got some out and I sat and waited 2. Hours for my next test to be done. Preying I wouldn't have the same member of staff again I soon realised they had never released the tight band around my arm to release the blood that has always happened before in previous tests. My arm hurt so much! I did end up having the same person do my next test and heard them saying to their colleague I can't get any blood out of their ladies arm. A juicy vein but no blood so they passed me on to a colleague to do and they took my blood instead. Well tried to.. again they did not release the tight band to get my blood out. I wanted to cry. It was so sore and I didn't have the guts to tell the member of staff how to do their job and release the band so blood would come out. I feel really strongly that the team should have not let this person perform blood tests or they needs someone who is fully trained to re-train them. Also they did not wipe my skin with a sterile wipe before they inserted the needle the second time after coughing in their glove. And there was blood on the curtains probably from where they had finally released the tight band and it went spitting out everywhere. I felt so faint and my arm hurt so much after. It's shocking that this member of staff can work there performing blood tests, they need re-training. Other than that a pleasant member of staff...
