Staff levels, Walking around the hospital was like a horror movie where it was so empty and didnt see a soul walking around anywhere, could have fainted for hours without being found in that place, corridoors are horribly long and some are just a massive waste of space like the one on ground floor thats like a subway! The new building and the front of the hospital seems oh very nice, but the back of it and the old building where it seems most of the wards are...they are so tacky and dirty its unbelieveable, and the A&E is ridiculously slow and small! Cannot believe how small the A&E is for a hospital of this size, arrived in ambulance and had to sit on a chair in a cubicle the size of a toilet. And HYGIENE?! goodness me, did not see nurse(the ONE nurse on our ward) use alcogel once when touching patients or doing blood pressure/temp etc, some alcogel bottles were empty on the ends of beds, dried blood splatters on floor of our ward, the toilet was blocked up with god knows what and floor was covered in water(i hope!), wasnt given everything i needed after i was discharged, notes were not kept in my folder and consultant couldnt find them at first, my IV bag was hooked on (believe it or not) the curtain rail of all places.
Overall just awful hospital, it may look all nice and pretty but the inside is a very different story.
Have had plenty of experience with Southampton General over years as i live closer to there (thank goodness now!) and that is 10x better than QA, perhaps QA should study it a little and learn, its much faster, more friendly, alot more nurses etc by looks of it, huge A&E when it is smaller than QA now, and it is sooo much more hygienic and spotlessly clean, its bright/airy and smells normal, not like the ewwy smell in parts of QA where some even smelt like sewage. Sorry for long comment and i could continue if i wanted, but i wont!
P.S. Only 1 shop?! Whats up with that when they have all that space wasted on silly huge coridoors?!
