What I liked
not much
What could be improved
I was a patient on ward B1. Scheduled for surgery on 21 may 2010 and was told to come on the ward between 7.00 and 7.30 am. when I arrived I was taken to the day room as there wasn't a bed ready for me, they were just discharging patients and one would be available soon. 3 hours later I was still waiting. At 10.20 I was called down for surgery even though I still hadn't got a bed, I had to get changed in the toilet!! After surgery a bed had finally been found. I would like to say things improved after that I would like to say that my after care from the nurses was excellent but it wasn't. I hardly every saw any nursing staff when I did they seemed very uncaring. If I called for a nurse using the nurse call system it wasn't answered for 20 minutes sometimes longer. On the day of my discharge I had to wait nearly 4 hours for my tablets before I could leave, I asked a nurse 3 times how long it would be till I could leave her response was "Oh, your one of those kind of patients"
Anything else?
The most disgusting part of my stay was a men's urine bottle full of urine left in the toilet sink for over 10 hours!! 5 times I told the staff about it. It was the night nurse who finally moved it.
And the food was totally disgusting, please do something about that for everyones sake.
"not much"
