Having my mother discharged and safe at home.

What could be improved

Care of elderely and less abled patients.

Nurses taking care when administering medications. They almost administered a patient with a lethal dose of medication.

Ward managers need to scrutinise nursing staff closely.

Attitude of Ward staff towards patients who have language issues.

While waiting for my mum to be discharged, a patient asked me to inform the nurse that they can't eat until they've had their insulin. The nurse said she was too busy and couldn't care less whether the patients eats or not. I told the sister in charge who asked me to mind my own business.

The Outpatients appointments system at the trust is disgraceful.And has been for almost 3 years.

The care at the trust has been rapidly eroding since City Hospital and Sandwell Hospital has merged.

Anything else?

I would ask patients to raise their concerns publicly if possible, otherwise they hospital will not improve.
