As I was expecting identical twin boys, the plan was to have the babies in the delivery suite. I was very well cared for and supported by a wide range of midwives who answered all of my questions and were very reassuring. After 24 hours it was decided that I needed to have an emergency cesarean. This was undertaken quickly and smoothly without panicking myself, my babies or my husband. Everything was explained clearly to us and we felt very well looked after. Following the birth I stayed in Hazel ward for two days before being discharged. While here, the midwives could not have done enough to help and advise us. I would like to say a huge thank you to the GWH team for the safe arrival of our gorgeous boys and plenty of advise. The only way we feel the experience could be improved is to provide something more comfortable for fathers to sleep on than a chair!
