"Life saving care"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Cardiology

I was admitted to Lincoln County Hospital having suffered a heart attack at my home. Right from the beginning the care I received was exemplary. Within a few minutes of my wife's 999 call a first responder arrived from the neighbouring RAF base. The first responder was closely followed by an ambulance. On the way to Lincoln a paramedic joined the ambulance. During the journey my heart stopped three times. Once at the hospital the consultant and their team saved my life. My heart stopped a further five times. However, because of the skill and care of the staff in the IC Unit and the cardiac wards I was discharged yesterday. After my operation another consultant took over my care. I found them to be very approachable and easy to talk to. The consultant explained clearly what further treatment I will need with the time scale mapped out. Every member of staff I had contact with was kind, helpful and knowledgeable. There were no negatives at all. I apologise for not being to remember everyone's name although I did try to say thank you to everyone before being discharged. Even though I was discharged yesterday my wife was still having a conversation with a nurse about my medication this morning. Again nothing was too much trouble.
