"Referral from A+E"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Ophthalmology

After getting a chunk of metal in my eye A+E referred me to the ophthalmology dept due to having concerns about possible damage to my eye. The reception staff were very helpful in booking me in. My appointment was at 10.20am and I was seen bang on time. My first assessment was a pleasure with the staff keeping me informed and explaining everything that they were doing. I was then taken to a room and the doctors and staff were more then professional in every thing that they did. They carried out a minor surgical procedure explaining all aspects of it. They supplied me with all medication needed and the reception staff made me a follow up appointment that was convenient to me. All in all I can not thank the doctors, nurses and staff enough for a professional, welcoming and successful appointment.

That must have been an awful experience for you - getting a speck of dust in your eye is bad enough and eyesight is so important.

I am glad to note that all the team worked well to provide you with a prompt and efficient service - and more to the point, that the problem was sorted out for you.

I am sure that your eye must still feel sore, but I hope it heals very soon indeed.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your contact with the Ophthalmology department.
