Recently had a planned c section and the service was not consistent some of the midwives were very nice but others were absolutely horrible, asked for help none was provided and later to find out that the rude midwife was a student which is very sad. During the night tablets weren't provided timely, advice on breast feeding minimal, no one noticed my baby was sleepy and jaundiced after 48 hrs ended in hospital with her being tube fed. I wouldnt have written this here if it was just about myself but when I saw that the baby book was not even filled in basically I got back a baby book that just had a sticker on the front page and that was it no notes nothing I decided to let other future mums know.. I have been neglected the first 24hrs even if the midwives should have known that I lost a significant amount of blood during the surgery which made my recovery slower than for other patients also being a first time mum no advice was given as to what could have been done to feel a bit better, no empathy at all. In the morning the cleaners came in to dust around regardless if the baby was exactly underneath the curtain rail and bleach the floors minimally while talking making it difficult for me as an adult to breath no wonder babies were crying, but funny enough the toilet was not cleaned at all(in the morning one of the mums probably bled on the toilet and on the floor and couldn't bend to clean around the WC) guess what when I left the hospital the next day that blood stain was still there. Also I was the last one to leave and by that point the heating was stopped in the room where I was and a very rude cleaner asked me why am I still there and begun to throw and bang stuff around disregarding baby sleeping or even my green and tired face that just wanted to go home and get out of that place. I will never recommend that ward though downstairs after the surgery in the recovery room the midwives were brilliant and I will thank them for all of their help!
