I have spent the day in A&E with my father, aged 91, after he activated the lifeline this morning. Without exception, everybody we have met today has been incredibly, kind, caring and efficient. The staff member who rang to ask questions when the ambulance was on its way oozed compassion & helpfulness even down the telephone line. The paramedics were wonderful, kind, efficient, so competent, diffused our fear. Every member of staff in A&E was polite, helpful, compassionate & so efficient. My father commented that he had met so many people he would like to meet again, he was heartened that so much kindness still existed. The auxiliaries, nurses, doctors, the occupational therapist, all gave exemplary time & attention. Sometimes it was quite a long wait between treatments, but the volume of patients was incredible, nonstop pressure on all the staff, overcrowded space, I don't know how they managed to perform so well in such an environment. Thankyou.
