(as the patient),

my friend was recently sent to A & E, then AEU. staff friendly and helpful, however we were there for nearly 6 hours, i understand they are busy but this seems rather a long time to have bloods taken and then told to return following day for a scan

We were pleased to hear that you found the staff on A&E and the AEU friendly and helpful.

We were sorry to hear that you had to wait so long in the department. We take waiting times very seriously at Macclesfield, and we do our utmost to keep them to a minimum. The hospital has been under an unusual amount of pressure this winter which may explain why you waited for longer than usual. It is very rare for a patient to have waited for over 4 hours in A&E, but we investigate and address all individual cases when this happens.
