a friend of mine has been battling with an open wound on his leg for near on 5 years, he has had more than his fair share of superbugs and different hospitals blaming the other for giving them to him.
my concern now is that i have just spoken to my friend who has just told me that no-one is really looking after his wound. He's in unbelievable pain and is struggling to see a way out after been fighting for treatment for so long. He feels like hes not been treated as a human being as he feels that no one should have to endure the constant pain that he his having. He talked about the dream of playing cricket with his son and been able to enjoy a nights sleep, but after so long he has now lost faith in the services that he is involved with.
The nurses who dress the wound telling him to grin and bear until they can inform the consultant and then the consultant who sees him for a brief look and quick assessment then sent home untill the next few months has passed, (probaby a target met, that my friend has been seen face to face within a certain timescale, not that any quality consulting was actually done.) how can no new careplan be put in place? is the nhs in kiklees in that bad a state that a persons leg has to rot off before anyone is prepared to think outside the box?
