"I was generally greatly impressed ..."

About: Broomfield Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was generally greatly impressed by the help and service I received. Staff were very friendly and polite and often offered help without being asked when they saw that it was necessary. I felt that generally the staff had real concern for me.

What could be improved

The staff were generally very polite. But there was one exception. I am elderly and use a walking aid and am in pain for most of the time. I introduced myself to a senior nurse to explain the reason I had arrived a little early. Unfortunately the reply was given in a very offensive way. I thought that Dickensian rudeness to the elderly and infirm had gone out of practice long ago. This was an isolated incident and was quite out of character with the general level of respect shown by all staff.

Anything else?

I recommend you arrive at the hospital well before your appointment time because presently parking is difficult. The visitor's restaurant is very good.
