"Administrative nightmare. 7 months and no..."

About: The Podiatry Centre

Admin is a total shambles. It took months to get an appointment. The first one was cancelled due to sickess and then rescheduled for 2 months later. When I finally got to attend the first appointment many months after my initial referral, it did actually go well - the podiatrist was helpful and knowledgeable. They sent my orthotics off to get fixed which they said would take 2 weeks and scheduled me for a scan. The podiatrist booked me a follow up appointment for 6 weeks later to review the scan. After 6 weeks I had had no contract re the hospital scan and my orthotics were still not returned. I tried to call to see if I still needed to attend the appointment but the person on the phone was barely intelligible. Despite this I spoke to them for some time until I was confident they had understood that I needed the podiatrist to email me to let me know either way whether I should attend - they promised they would. No one emailed me so I had to take a morning off work to go to the appointment to find out what was going on (an appointment that could have been used to shorten their dire waiting list times for someone else). After waiting for a long time in a room full of a number of people all with serious grievances about the organisation of the surgery the podiatrist turned up very late - they were surpised I hadn't had my orthotics back but then realised they had been sent to the wrong place so rather than risk never seeing them again I went there to get them instead myself - they said they would chase up my scan which I should have received. The appointment for my scan came straight away so I am assuming that they just never applied for it. The scan technicians were really good, saw me on time, on a Sunday, very professional. That was over a month ago. I have tried in vain to get a follow up appointment to find out the results (they said they'd be back within a week). Every time I have tried I have been on hold for extended periods of time and then it says "there is no one available to take your call. Please try again another time.

Good bye" the last time it did this was after a 34 minute wait - I was totally livid as you can imagine. Today, I tried again - I actually got straight through to someone useful. They noted they don't have any appointments until next year. I am moving away from London in 4 weeks. I've been trying to get this treatment since May and through sickness and inefficiency we are now in December - before I've even had any treatment at all! I will now have to start all over again in the next place I move to. In the meantime it's incredibly painful to walk on my foot and I've had to stop running entirely. This clinic is a total shambles. They don't realise this level of poor service has a serious impact on people's lives and wellbeing. If you have any opportunity to avoid it please do so at all costs! Sadly despite me requesting this Southwark podiatry referral sent me here instead.
