I recently spent five nights in Maidstone Hospital, three of them in the Cardiac Care unit.
I was extremely impressed with the level of the care and efficiency of the staff.
Nurses, and particularly the sisters, made me feel I was in very safe hands.
I was treated very courteously at all times and liked the fact that every member of staff meeting me for the first time introduced themselves with their name.
I also appreciated being asked how I wished to be addressed.
More importantly, I was monitored at all times and never had to call out if I was worried.
The cardiac ward is one of the very few mixed sex wards, which did not worry me at all - I was the only woman in a ward with four men and enjoyed the humour of my fellow patients.
I very much appreciated the fact that there was no television, which resulted in the ward being quiet.
I would definitely recommend the cardiac unit to anyone needing a pacemaker fitted, as I did.
"Excellent cardiac care"
