"Good, but not great"

I dropped by looking for the Minor Injuries clinic, when I asked the security guard at the desk they told me it's now the Urgent Care dept. Ok. It was 0740, and the desk opened at 0800 so I asked if I could wait. To be honest the guard was the friendliest person I spoke to. It was 0810 before the receptionist was ready, good news is that their mug was full of tea, and they could really take their time walking from the kitchen to the desk. So I felt warmed by their comfort. I've also seen other reviews about the obvious lack of empathy on the reception desks, as well as a lack of get up and go to help the now 5 people queueing to be seen. I filled in the form and handed it back. Sat in the waiting area. After 5-10 minutes (clinic opens at 8, I'm first in the queue, I'm still sat here) I'm called through for triage. Bearing in mind I was under the impression that this is a minor injuries clinic, that's why I'm here. My GP doesn't often have same-day appointments, and this seemed like the best idea in the circumstances. I explained my concern, and then I got told off. I hadn't taken painkillers - why? Well because that would numb the pain, and I could do more damage. I hadn't gone to the pharmacist or doctor - why? Because I thought I'd done something more serious than it turns out I had. I'm a prole when it comes to this sort of thing, that's why I've come to the expert... That said, the nurse diagnosed my issue and explained it, sorted out what I needed and sayinf "I'm not telling you off but.." then explained why with it being winter they try to keep appointment slots free for those that really matter. Sorry, need it. Which is precisely the reason I got there before 8 so I could be in and out without getting in real people's ways. If the place was open at 8, that would have happened. All the mild negativity aside, I got what was needed, but came away feeling like a second class citizen, having essentially been chastised for seeking help.
