What I liked

On all vists I find the hospital old and new parts clean and well maintained.

What could be improved

Parking is an issue always and compared with Bassetlaw is alot more per hour.

Anything else?

My husband currently has an Umbilical hernia and has been to the day unit for his op prepped and ready to go down to then be cancelled due to lack of theatre time. he is needle phobic and stressed out by even the thought of an anaesthetic. Previously on EAU to be sent home as he was on a waiting list!!!. Its not just the patient but the fact I had booked time off work for the day and to take time off to look after him ( using my holiday entitlement). And in the run up to a bank holiday the waiting list office has ground to a hault and no one can do anything til Tuesday!!! If I ran my business like this it would be shut!!! In the mean time my husband is sat at home in great discomfort on painkillers.

We are very sorry that your husbands surgery was rescheduled. The decision to cancel surgery on the actual day is not taken lightly and we are aware of the impact this can have on the patient and their family. Reasons for rescehduling at such short notice may be that another patients surgery had taken longer than predicted or that an emergency procedure had to take priority - as an Acute Hospital we do receive emergency admissions and these may require life-saving intervention.
