About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Ophthalmology

I was referred on the 27th Sept for removal of cataracts owing to narrow angle glaucoma and raised intraoccular pressure, by the consultant in the eye clinic.

The consultant said the wait would be 2 - 3 months.

Since then I have heard nothing and when I contacted the hospital I was given the cataract clinic who said they have not had a referral for me and the suggestion was that I asked my GP or optician for a referral letter.

Neither the GP nor optician referred me, it was the consultant in the eye clinic!! This lack of communication is worse than appalling.

I will now have to go back to the eye clinic and stand there until I get an answer as my sight is precious to me and I'm extremely concerned.
