"I was a patient of the Ashcombe ..."

About: Weston General Hospital

(as the patient),

What could be improved

I was a patient of the Ashcombe ward a few weeks ago. The toilet for waiting patients was right in the waiting room which meant everyone could hear when someone used the toilet.

When I had my scan, the nurse said "Oh, I don't know what is going on here" which of course made me feel slightly unsettled. I was eventually diagnosed with a missed miscarriage so the nurse took my notes and told me that she would inform my midwife as I was supposed to have my next midwife appointment a couple of weeks later. Unfortunately my midwife was not informed and she called me this morning to say I was late for my appointment.

Another instance of lack of communication was when they had agreed to fax my notes to the hospital at Bristol but when I got to Bristol, they had not received my notes and had no record of my blood tests.

One would hope that you could trust and rely on the NHS and staff, but I am very disappointed and feel a lot of work could be done to improve efficiency here.
