I was referred to the breast clinic having found a hard lump in my breast 10 days previously. I was extremely nervous as to what the outcome may be as there is a strong history of cancer in our family and due to this I am screened regularly. My husband and I arrived at the clinic and didn't have long to wait before we were called in to see the doctor who was brilliant. They took a history then called in a nurse before giving me an examination. Both the nurse and the doctor had a lovely manner and were chatting on and trying to put me at ease. The doctor didn't think the lump was anything to worry about, most likely a cyst, and sent me for an ultrasound as it wasnt long since I had had a mammogram. After a short wait I was seen by a lovely radiographer who confirmed it was a cyst and proceded to drain it, again all the time chatting away and putting me at ease. My husband and I were then called back to see the doctor who confirmed all was ok and I was discharged. What a fantastic system you have in place to be able to have all the relevant tests in one place on the same day. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone on the team who looked after me during my time at the breast clinic. You were all so caring. You made what was a stressful time a whole lot easier. I am very grateful. You are a credit to the hospital. Thank you.
