"Excellent care during knee replacement operation"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I have been into the Royal Bolton Hospital for a revision and full right knee replacement.

Everything was fine and I would like to thank all of the staff on ward F4, Physiotherapy department, because they all changed rotas on a regular basis and this meant that there were plenty of staff on duty all of the time.

The only concern that I had was the food and the fact that I was unable to use my mobile phone, it was expensive to use the hospital phones.

Thank your for your kind comments about the care you received. We shall pass these on to the staff concerned. We are sorry you did not enjoy the food although we do carry out surveys that show that the majority of patients are satisfied with meals. We do not allow mobile phones in wards as they can interfere with medical equipment. They are permitted in day rooms when patients are well enough to be out of bed.
