"I was admitted to Day Surgery ..."

About: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted to Day Surgery for a cystoscopy.

The theatre staff, nurses, anaesthetist, consultant urogynaecologist and his assistant all worked well together and treated me with respect and were very polite and had a good chat with me. This helped me to feel like I was treated like an individual.

They all looked after me really well and put me at ease.

His assistant even stayed with me while I was put to sleep.

They all treated me with dignity and made sure I was comfortable and monitored me regularly to see how I was.

They were all very organised and I was not kept waiting for my trip to theatre for very long.

Overall, they looked after me very well. I would certainly not hesitate to recommend them to other people.

Although the consultant has discharged me from his care due to nothing he can do for my neurogenic bladder, apart from hydrodistensions if and when I need them to help maintain my bladder capacity, the hydrodistension has helped me hold more capacity. I am now waiting to see my neurologist to discuss the best management of my neurogenic bladder resulting from my spine condition.

I wish to thank them all for the great care they gave me. They set a very good example of how to provide best care/standards and are a real credit to your hospital.
