I recently went to Bolton Royal Hospital for problems with my kidney stones. I stayed on F3. I received prompt treatment for the pain that I was in.

I received an injection into my hand from a nurse which was extremely painful. They should make sure nurses know how to inject patients in a less painful way. Also when I needed something, I called the nurse and I felt she ignored me and did not seem helpful.

Thank you for this feedback. Some parts of the body are more sensitive than others and without the benefit of more information whether there was a cannula in place or not we cannot give a clearer explanation for the discomfort you experienced.

What we will do is ensure that the nursing staff on F3 advise patients that some injections can be painful. We have also shared your comments on feeling ignored with the Matron for that area - we are sorry this was the case and will ensure your views are shared with the staff on the ward.
