"Missed appointment due to inadequate parking"

(as the patient),

I had an appointment to see an orthopaedic consultant and I arrived at the hospital half an hour before my appointment as I know getting parked is a bullbait. I can only walk short distances due to severe pain in my back, knees and hip so I hoped to get parked quite near to entrance 3. What a joke, I drove around the hospital for over 30 minutes trying to get parked (anywhere) but had to give up as I had missed my appointment. To say I was frustrated was an understatement. It was a total waste of my time but more importantly the consultants. After having to make another appointment I will have to get a lift or a TAXI to make sure I can make my next appointment. I think the lack of adequate parking needs to be looked into immediately.

We apologise that you weren't able to find a parking space to attend your appointment. The trust has invested heavily in expanding the number of parking spaces available for patients, and we can only apologise that you weren't able to find a space and assure you that we take how easily patients can reach the hospital very seriously.
