"not a lot!!"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

not a lot!!

What could be improved

most things!! there needs to be more communication between nurses, doctors and patients. There needs to be more nursing staff, my husband was on B3 with suspected appendicitus, he was left for 4 days, not a lot of communication, on the second day his drip fell out, it was not replaced as they said he was drinking water, although he was having constant diarrhoea, the third day he ended up severly dehydrated and in a worse condition than when he arrived in there!! On the fourth day he was going to be operated on, 10 minutes before surgery they discovered he had food poisoning, surely the first test they should have done was for this?????? I have got to say i'm extremely dissapointed with the hospital, the nurses on the ward did their best under the circumstances, but this was not good enough. If i ever have to go into hospital, i will not go to Russells hall .

Anything else?

The CARE factor needs to be put back into this hospital, not targets and waiting times. If people are cared for properly they recover quicker, if people are treated with care, compassion and dignity they respond with only good things!
